Somewhere between the stars and the groove, Cosmic Dust lands as the second debut single from Alien Airplay — the musical universe of multi-instrumentalist Joe Kustek. This is jazz, but not as you know it. Lush, funky, and built from the ground up, the track weaves synth into the space where a saxophone might have lived, giving the familiar jazz-funk landscape an otherworldly edge.
“Hey Beautiful” is a smooth, funky synth-driven groove from Alien Airplay inspired by the warm textures and melodic energy of the 1980’s. Built around a bass line that takes the lead instead of staying in the background, the track blends retro-style synth layers with a laid-back pulse that creates a nostalgic late-night atmosphere while still feeling fresh and modern. The video follows a playful visual journey of music showing up everywhere—from living rooms to beaches to even outer space—capturing that classic 80’s-style imagination where sound and feeling travel anywhere.
Alien Airplay teams up with vocalist Bill Pence to breathe fresh energy into one of the most enduring songs ever written about resilience, setbacks, and standing back up when life knocks you down. With Bill’s powerful vocal performance leading the way and Joe Kustek laying down the bass foundation behind the track as well as Keyboards, this version respects the soul of the original while giving it a bold new edge.
This is my bass-only take on the iconic “Axel F” theme from Beverly Hills Cop! I wanted to capture the energy and attitude of Harold Faltermeyer’s classic while letting the bass carry every melody, groove, and rhythm on its own. It’s a stripped-down performance that highlights tone, feel, and groove — simple, raw, and full of character, just the way Alien Airplay does it.
Fold is an unconventional classical composition that moves with a sense of freedom, bouncing between tonal colors without settling into a single defined key. Its shifting harmonies create tension and surprise, eventually resolving in a haunting minor conclusion. The result is an emotional journey that feels both unpredictable and deeply satisfying.
